I don t know of any ring settings in the pro doorbell that would stop or allow 5 ghz.
Ring doorbell pro 2 4 or 5ghz.
It should be able to connect.
Will ring video doorbell pro on a 5 ghz network work with my ring chime on a 2 4 ghz network.
So if it seems it it should be able to connect.
Also i did a little experimenting with my recently purchased ring chime pro it is wi fi 2 4 ghz and 5 ghz dual capable.
How do i force my ring doorbell pro to get to the 2 4ghz band rather than the 5ghz band.
The main differences are chime pro extends wifi coverage for ring devices has dual band 2 4ghz 5ghz wifi connectivity vs 2 4ghz only a built in nightlight and guided feedback during the setup process to help you find the best location for your chime pro.
Ring chime will only work on a 2 4 ghz network however ring chime does not need to be on the same network as ring doorbell or ring doorbell pro.
For best streaming performance.
The 5 ghz band is generally less congested and offers better overall throughput so it s entirely plausible that a weak 5 ghz signal offer better performance than a strong 2 4 ghz signal especially if there are a lot of 2 4 ghz networks showing up.
These two video doorbell models work with 2 4ghz networks as well.
What is the recommended internet speed for ring video doorbell pro.
However in addition to other more advanced features video doorbell pro and elite offer 5ghz connectivity.
I just used 2 4 since it travels farther and has more than enough speed for my pro to handle.
I was unaware the ring video doorbell pro could use 5 ghz.
In addition to connecting the pro to 2 4 it s a great idea to connect all indoor 5ghz compatible devices to the 5ghz network to avoid too much.
As you said this is where 5 ghz can falter to some extent.
I remember seeing both of my ssid for 2 4 and 5 ghz.
5ghz provides higher bandwidth speeds but has more limited range and doesn t penetrate walls quite as easily as 2 4ghz does.
Go with whatever makes your ring work best.
But for some reason the doorbell signal strength is weak.
This isn t only an industry standard but a no brainer when it comes to the customers.
The reality is that the ring pro or really any smart doorbell home security product etc is never going to need the extra bandwidth that the 5ghz band provides so 2 4ghz should be sufficient in most cases.
Kjacques1 nir76 i just discovered in addition to the video doorbell pro the video doorbell elite and the video doorbell 3 plus also are 5 ghz 2 4 ghz capable.
I m hoping this will make a better connection to my router.
Today is a really good day for me.
Video doorbell pro and video doorbell elite.
I ve measured the signal strength at my door with other devices and they re strong.
