I have two ring pro video doorbells connected to a mechanical chime.
Ring doorbell 2 chime buzzing.
I ran brand new doorbell wire to support this installation.
To properly line up your ring video doorbell 2.
I didn t see any reports of this occurring after one year let alone two.
My doorbell 2 wired to a byron 776 started buzzing this morning out of the blue emailed ring and finally rang them as the delay to responds to my email was too long spoke to a guy in usa who stated that the chime was at fault and i should use a ring recommended one i explained that it was he didnt beleive me and sent me a link of approved door bells funny enough the byron 776 was on the list and i made sure i pointed it out to the guy whilst he was still on the phone.
Level the device using the level tool.
Second the indoor chime won t ring when someone hits the doorbell.
I started by using the 16v 10va transformer that came with the chime.
From here click on general settings and then doorbell chime type.
Line up your ring video doorbell 2.
Place the ring doorbell 2 next to your door at about 48 inches from the ground.
This will allow you to choose what type of chime is in your home.
I then replaced the transformer with a new 16v 30va transformer recommended for ring same issue.
That worked successfully for a couple of weeks.
But then one of the ring pro s started going offline due to low voltage.
Depending on video doorbell model there should also be a chime selection setting in your doorbell s device settings in the ring app.
Looking online there seem to be plenty of reports of people having trouble with buzzing chimes usually when they first connect the doorbell and sometimes after a month or two.
I replaced the doorbell chime with a heath zenith 2735 from the approved list same issue.
The internal mechanical doorbell works perfectly the ring does not.
Make sure mechanical is chosen in the drop down menu and that ring my in home doorbell is selected to on position to the right.
Click the level tool included in the box into the small hole on the front of the ring doorbell 2 below the camera.
